The Dubai Metro runs from 5 AM to midnight on Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, from 5 AM to 1 AM on Friday, and from 8 AM to midnight on Sunday. The Red Line and the Green Line keep the same hours.
Midnight is when the last trains finish their runs, not when the last train leaves. On Monday to Thursday the last Red Line trains leave the end stations between 10:44 and 10:52 PM, and the last metro out of Dubai Airport toward the city leaves before 11 PM. The tables below give the last departure from the stations people ask about most.

Dubai Metro hours by day
Both lines run 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM on Monday to Thursday and Saturday, 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM on Friday, and 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM on Sunday.
| Day | First trains | Closing |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 5:00 AM | 12:00 AM (midnight) |
| Friday | 5:00 AM | 1:00 AM (next day) |
| Saturday | 5:00 AM | 12:00 AM (midnight) |
| Sunday | 8:00 AM | 12:00 AM (midnight) |
Match today’s weekday to a row. A Tuesday follows the Monday-to-Thursday hours, and a Friday runs an hour past midnight.
The hours apply at every station on both lines. The first trains leave the end stations between 5:00 and 5:03 AM from Monday to Saturday, and between 8:00 and 8:05 AM on Sunday.
Red Line & Green Line routes

The two lines share one timetable but cover different parts of the city.
- The Red Line runs from centrepoint (R11) near the airport to Expo 2020 (R76), with a branch to Life Pharmacy (R42). It has 35 stations, and the full ride takes about 75 to 80 minutes.
- The Green Line runs from e& (G11) to Creek (G30). It has 20 stations, and the full ride takes about 40 minutes.
- Union (R18/G20) and BurJuman (R19/G26) are the two stations where the lines meet, and the only places to switch between them.
- SOBHA Realty (R36) and DMCC (R37) connect the Red Line to the Dubai Tram. The tram keeps its own hours: 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM from Monday to Saturday and 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM on Sunday.
- Terminal 1 (R14) and Terminal 3 (R13) are Red Line stations, so every airport trip uses the Red Line.
Older maps and apps still label the end stations Rashidiya, UAE Exchange and Etisalat, which are today’s centrepoint, Life Pharmacy and e&. Neither line crosses into Sharjah, so getting to Sharjah from Dubai means a bus or the ferry from Al Ghubaiba.
Last train times from key stations
The last Red Line trains leave the end stations between 10:44 and 10:52 PM from Monday to Thursday and on Saturday, and the last Green Line trains leave at about 11:23 to 11:25 PM. The tables below cover those days. Every other stop has its own first and last train times in each direction.

Red Line
| Station | Last train toward centrepoint | Last train toward Expo 2020 / Life Pharmacy |
|---|---|---|
| Expo 2020 | 10:44 PM | End of line |
| Life Pharmacy | 10:52 PM | End of line |
| Mall of the Emirates | 11:17–11:21 PM | 11:32–11:36 PM |
| Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall | 11:31–11:35 PM | 11:18–11:22 PM |
| BurJuman | 11:44–11:48 PM | 11:06–11:10 PM |
| Union | 11:47–11:51 PM | 11:03–11:07 PM |
| Terminal 1 | 11:56 PM–12:00 AM | 10:54–10:58 PM |
| Terminal 3 | 11:58 PM–12:02 AM | 10:52–10:56 PM |
| centrepoint | End of line | 10:46–10:50 PM |
The two directions have different cutoffs. At Union the last train toward centrepoint leaves at 11:47 to 11:51 PM, but the last train toward Expo 2020 and Life Pharmacy leaves at 11:03 to 11:07 PM, roughly 45 minutes earlier.
To go south from the city centre, be on the platform by 11:03 PM at Union, 11:06 PM at BurJuman or 11:18 PM at Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall.
Green Line
| Station | Last train toward Creek | Last train toward e& |
|---|---|---|
| e& | 11:23 PM | End of line |
| Union | 11:41–11:42 PM | 11:45–11:47 PM |
| BurJuman | 11:53–11:54 PM | 11:33–11:35 PM |
| Creek | End of line | 11:24–11:25 PM |
Both of the last Green Line trains reach the far end just after midnight.
Friday & Sunday last trains
Friday’s last trains run about an hour later than the weekday ones. The last Red Line trains leave the end stations between 11:46 and 11:50 PM, and the last Green Line trains leave e& at 12:23 AM and Creek at 12:25 AM. From Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall the last train toward Expo 2020 and Life Pharmacy leaves at 12:18 to 12:22 AM, and the final trains finish their runs just after 1:00 AM.
Sunday’s last trains fall within 4 minutes of the weekday times in the tables. Only the 8:00 AM start differs.
Dubai Airport trains
The last metro from Dubai Airport toward the city leaves Terminal 3 between 10:52 and 10:56 PM and Terminal 1 between 10:54 and 10:58 PM on Monday to Thursday and on Saturday. On Friday those departures move to 11:52–11:56 PM at Terminal 3 and 11:54–11:58 PM at Terminal 1. A flight that lands after those times needs another way into the city.

Going to the airport, the last trains reach Terminal 1 between 11:56 PM and 12:00 AM and Terminal 3 between 11:58 PM and 12:02 AM on Monday to Thursday and Saturday.
The first metro from the airport toward the city leaves Terminal 3 between 5:05 and 5:08 AM and Terminal 1 between 5:07 and 5:10 AM from Monday to Saturday. On Sunday the first departures are between 8:03 and 8:09 AM.
How to check live timings
The RTA timetable page and the S’hail app are the two official ways to read a train time before you leave.
- Open the RTA timetable page in and select Dubai Metro. The opening hours for every day are listed there.
- Open the Detailed Timings file on that page for the first and last train at each station, by direction.
- In the S’hail app, tap Plan a Journey, enter your start station and destination, and read the departure and arrival times for your route. The app also sends alerts when a service changes or runs late.
- At the station, the screens in the concourse and on the platform show the next trains.
Holiday & event timings

RTA publishes a separate timetable for each public holiday and special occasion, and the metro can run well beyond its normal hours on those days. The timetables sit behind the main banner on the RTA homepage.
For New Year 2026 both lines ran continuously for 43 hours, from 5:00 AM on 31 December 2025 until 11:59 PM on 1 January 2026. The Dubai Marathon on 1 February 2026 moved the Sunday opening from 8:00 AM to 5:00 AM.
On a holiday the weekday table above does not apply, so use that day’s own timetable.

Before you head to the station
- Find your weekday in the hours table, then read the last-train row for your own station and direction instead of the closing time.
- For a trip south toward Expo 2020 or Life Pharmacy, be at Union by 11:03 PM or at Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall by 11:18 PM on Monday to Thursday.
- A flight landing after 10:58 PM on a weekday means no metro toward the city, so plan a taxi or bus from the terminal.
- On a public holiday or event day, read that day’s timetable on the RTA homepage before you plan the trip.
