Mashreq balance check

Mashreq Balance Check: App, WhatsApp, ATM & Phone

The quickest Mashreq balance check without opening an app is WhatsApp. Send “Hi” to +971 4 424 4744 from the mobile number registered with the bank, and you can ask for your account balance and last five transactions in the chat.

The Mashreq Mobile app, the virtual assistant inside it, ATMs and the 24/7 phone line cover everything else.

Mashreq Mobile app

Mashreq Mobile shows your full relationship with the bank on one screen once you log in: accounts, cards, loans and deposits, each with its balance. Tap an account for its transactions.

The app also handles cardless cash withdrawals, bill payments and transfers, so a balance check is usually the first step before one of those. If you haven’t registered, an ATM can set up your online banking access or retrieve a forgotten user ID.

The virtual assistant

Inside the app, go to Services > Chat with us to reach the Mashreq Virtual Assistant. Ask for your balance or a transaction enquiry and it replies in the chat. It also handles statements, card activation, blocking and replacing a card, and loan EMI details, and it can hand you to a live agent if it can’t answer.

Because you’re already logged in to the app, there’s no extra verification step. That’s the difference from WhatsApp.

WhatsApp banking

WhatsApp gives you a balance without logging in to the app.

  1. Save +971 4 424 4744 in your contacts.
  2. Send “Hi” from the mobile number registered with Mashreq.
  3. Enter the verification code Mashreq sends.
  4. Choose the balance option from the menu.

The same chat shows your last five transactions, a credit card summary, FX rates and the nearest ATM, and it can temporarily block your card.

Why WhatsApp says your number isn’t registered

Three numbers have to match: the one registered with Mashreq, the one your WhatsApp account runs on, and the one you’re messaging from. If any differ, the balance option returns an error. Update your mobile number at a Mashreq ATM or branch, then try again.

What the chat will ask for

At most, the last four digits of your card or account number. Mashreq never asks for a full card or account number, PIN or password on WhatsApp. Look for the green verified badge next to Mashreq’s name before you reply to anything.

Mashreq ATMs

Insert your debit card, enter your PIN, and choose balance from the menu. Mashreq ATMs can also print a mini statement or a financial summary of your accounts.

Two features help in specific situations:

  • Emirates ID access: you can use your Emirates ID at a Mashreq ATM to reach all your accounts, which helps if your card is lost or still being delivered.
  • Text to speech: plug a headset into the ATM’s audio slot to hear your balance and get voice guidance while withdrawing cash.

A Mashreq debit card also works at other banks’ ATMs in the UAE for a balance check and a cash withdrawal of up to AED 5,000.

Phone banking

Call 04 424 4444 from inside the UAE, or +971 4 424 4444 from abroad. The line is open 24/7 for Mashreq NEO and personal banking customers. Mashreq Gold customers have their own line, 800 44653, and Private Banking clients call 800 7748283.

Have your card or account details ready when the system asks for them. Never read your PIN out to an agent.

Choosing a method

  • Daily checks: Mashreq Mobile.
  • No app, but WhatsApp works: the WhatsApp channel, as long as your numbers match.
  • Card lost: Emirates ID at a Mashreq ATM, or block the card first through WhatsApp or the app.
  • Visually impaired: text to speech at a Mashreq ATM, or the phone line.
  • Travelling: the app over Wi-Fi, or call +971 4 424 4444.

Money that hasn’t shown up

Salary

A missing salary usually means a payroll delay on the employer’s side, not a Mashreq problem. Run a UAE salary balance check across all your accounts and cards before contacting your employer.

A transfer from abroad

The payer needs your full IBAN and the Mashreq SWIFT code, BOMLAEAD. A wrong code or missing IBAN is the usual reason money doesn’t appear.

Cash stuck in an ATM

If a Mashreq ATM takes your card’s cash or a deposit without completing the transaction, call +971 4 424 4444 and raise a complaint. The amount is credited after the bank’s internal check.
