Al nahda sharjah postal code

Al Nahda Sharjah Postal Code: What to Enter & Use Instead

Al Nahda in Sharjah has no postal code. When a checkout page or form refuses to continue without one, type 00000. Mail and parcels reach you through a PO Box or through your building address and mobile number, not through a code.

The right entry depends on what the field accepts, so the table below starts there.

What to enter in a postal code field

Field type Enter Notes
Numeric, required 00000 Accepted on most shopping checkouts and courier forms
Numeric, 00000 rejected 99999 Fallback for stricter validators
Text, required N/A or None Only when the field allows letters
Optional Leave blank Nothing is lost by skipping it
Asks for a PO Box Your box number A PO Box is not a postal code

Whatever goes in that field, set the city or emirate to Sharjah and the country to United Arab Emirates. The placeholder carries no routing information, so the rest of the address does the work.

Why Al Nahda has no postal code

The UAE has no postal code system for areas. Emirates Post sorts letters by rented PO Box numbers, so a box number does the job a ZIP code does elsewhere. Al Nahda follows the same rule as every other Sharjah neighbourhood, which means there is no Al Nahda-specific value to look up.

Numbers such as 61195 circulate online as the Al Nahda pin code, but Emirates Post does not issue them. Typing one adds nothing a sorting system or a delivery driver can use.

PO Box for official mail

Letters, bank mail and government correspondence sent through Emirates Post are addressed to a PO Box. There are two types of box for individuals and a separate one for companies.

Personal PO Box

  • MyBox: a box at an Emirates Post branch, from AED 300 a year.
  • MyHome: a mailbox at your villa or apartment.

An Emirates ID is the required document. Residents can rent a personal PO Box online at any hour or at an Emirates Post branch, and the box number is issued as part of the process.

Company PO Box

A company box is for business correspondence. It needs an Emirates ID and the trade licence, and it is rented online or at a branch in the same way as a personal one.

A PO Box is a number, not a location. It belongs in a field labelled PO Box and nowhere else.

Courier deliveries to your door

Couriers such as Aramex and DHL deliver to the address itself and do not use a postal code for Al Nahda. These are the details that get a parcel to the right door:

  • Building name, plus apartment or office number
  • Street name, or a landmark such as Sahara Centre or Al Nahda Park
  • Area: Al Nahda
  • Emirate: Sharjah
  • A mobile number you will answer

Drivers phone the recipient when a building is hard to find, so the number is the most useful line on the label.

Makani numbers & Sharjah

Makani numbers are the official addressing system in Dubai, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah. Sharjah is not one of them, so don’t depend on a Makani number for an Al Nahda building.

Al Nahda Sharjah borders Al Nahda 1 and Al Nahda 2 in Dubai, where buildings do carry Makani numbers. A number copied from a listing on the Dubai side points to a Dubai building, not to yours.

How to write the address

  1. Start with the recipient’s name.
  2. Add the building name and the flat or office number.
  3. Add the street name, then Al Nahda.
  4. Write Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.
  5. Enter 00000 in the postal code field only if the form requires it.
  6. Finish with a mobile number in international format, such as +971 5X XXX XXXX.

A courier parcel then reads like this:

Recipient name
Building name, Flat 000
Street name, Al Nahda
Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
Postal code: 00000
Mobile: +971 5X XXX XXXX

Mail sent through Emirates Post uses the box instead:

Recipient name
P.O. Box [your box number]
Sharjah
United Arab Emirates

Mistakes that cause failed deliveries

  • Leaving out Sharjah. Al Nahda is also a district in Dubai, so an address that says only Al Nahda can be routed to the wrong emirate.
  • Using a Dubai code. Codes taken from Al Nahda 1 or Al Nahda 2 listings do not belong on a Sharjah address.
  • Treating 61195 as real. It is not assigned to Al Nahda, so it does no work in a sorting system.
  • Giving only a PO Box for a courier parcel. Door delivery needs the building address and a phone number.
  • Skipping the phone number. Without it, a driver who cannot find the building has no way to reach you.
