Silver and Gold tickets stop selling at 1:30 PM, and the last vehicle tour leaves at 2 PM. A visit that starts after lunch therefore only works on a Bronze walking ticket, and that one cutoff shapes most of the planning.
Sharjah Safari opened in February 2022 and spreads 12 African-style environments across 8 square km. Prices run from AED 40 for a walking ticket to AED 3,500 for a private 15-seater, so the package you pick matters more than any other decision.

Bronze, Silver or Gold: which ticket fits
| Package | Adult | Child (3 to 12) | What it covers | Time to allow |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | AED 40 | AED 15 | Walking tour of Birds of Africa, East African Islands, Boma African Farm and Zanzibar Village | 1 to 2 hours |
| Silver | AED 120 | AED 50 | Everything in Bronze, plus a seat on a shared safari vehicle, a bird show and a stop at Safari Camp | 2 to 4 hours |
| Gold | AED 275 | AED 120 | Everything in Silver, plus a personal guide and a walking safari through the Serengeti | 3 to 5 hours |
Children under 3 enter free on all three. Two adults and two children pay AED 110 on Bronze, AED 340 on Silver and AED 790 on Gold.
- Bronze suits anyone arriving after 1:30 PM or wanting an hour or two on foot. It skips the Savannah, Ngorongoro and the other vehicle habitats.
- Silver is the standard choice for a first visit: one shared vehicle seat through seven habitats. It comes without a personal guide and without the Serengeti walk.
- Gold costs AED 155 more per adult and AED 70 more per child than Silver. That buys the personal guide and the Serengeti walk.
Private vehicles for groups
A private vehicle books the whole tour for your group and costs the same whatever the headcount.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Price | Per person when full |
|---|---|---|---|
| Safari Van | Up to 6 | AED 1,500 | AED 250 |
| Game Viewer without AC | Up to 9 | AED 2,250 | AED 250 |
| Safari Coach with AC | Up to 15 | AED 3,500 | About AED 233 |
The break-even against Gold is simple. Six Gold adults cost AED 1,650, so the six-seater is cheaper. Four adults and two children on Gold cost AED 1,340, so the van is not. Nine Gold adults come to AED 2,475 against AED 2,250 for the Game Viewer, and fifteen come to AED 4,125 against AED 3,500 for the Coach.
The Game Viewer has no air conditioning, while the Safari Coach does.
What you see in the 12 environments
The environments are Birds of Africa, East African Islands, Zanzibar Village, Boma African Farm, Sahel, Savannah, Serengeti, Tswalu safari camp, Ngorongoro, Moremi, Niger Valley and Kalahari. Which ones you reach depends on the ticket:
- Bronze: the four walking areas (Birds of Africa, East African Islands, Boma African Farm, Zanzibar Village).
- Silver: Niger Valley, Sahel, Moremi, Savannah, Ngorongoro, Kalahari and Tswalu by vehicle, plus Zanzibar Village.
- Gold: all of Silver, with the Serengeti covered on foot.

The Serengeti is built around the great migration, with a Mara River section where Nile crocodiles wait for herds crossing. Ngorongoro is modelled on an extinct crater, and the Sahel on the dry belt between the Sahara and the savannah. Restaurants and cafés sit around a natural lake inside the park, and Zanzibar Village is a dining stop.
Animals you can expect
Lions, elephants, giraffes, black and white rhinos and crocodiles are the headline species. Antelopes, gazelles and a long list of birds fill the open habitats, which are large enclosures rather than individual pens.

The breeding programme recorded 186 births in the second quarter of 2026, among them giraffes, elephants, lions, oryx, blue wildebeest, impala, nyala and zebra. Six critically endangered radiated tortoise hatchlings can be seen in the Spiny Forest.
Season 5 adds behind-the-scenes animal-care tours at selected times. Dates are announced by the park separately.
Timing your day
Arrive near 8:30 AM for Silver or Gold. A Gold tour runs 3 to 5 hours, so a start at the 1:30 PM cutoff runs well into the late afternoon. Bronze is the only package that works as an afternoon visit, with tickets sold until 4 PM.
The park closes for the summer and reopens each September; Season 5 began on 21 September. Outdoor time is far easier from October to April.
Tickets are sold by entry hour, and the earliest hours are the first to show sold out. Buying at the gate is possible, but a booked morning hour is the safer plan.
How to book tickets
- Open the official ticket portal.
- Choose the package: Bronze, Silver, Gold or a private vehicle.
- Pick the visit date.
- Choose the entry hour. Each hour is marked high, medium or low availability, or sold out.
- Enter the number of adults and children, then pay.
Children under 3 are free, so only those 3 and over need a priced ticket.
Getting there & parking
From Emirates Road (E611), take Exit 77 onto the Sharjah-Khorfakkan Road (E55) and drive about 30 km. The safari exit is on the right after the Al Dhaid cricket ground.
The drive is 40 to 50 minutes from central Sharjah city and around an hour from Dubai, depending on traffic. Parking is at the entrance. Tours run in the park’s own vehicles, so you leave your car in the car park.
What to bring & visitor rules
- A hat, sunscreen and sunglasses
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Binoculars and a camera
- A reusable water bottle, which you can fill at the refill points
Outside food is not allowed. Zanzibar Village and the lakeside restaurants cover meals, and a bottle of water is the one thing worth carrying in.
Other stops on the same trip
A Silver or Gold tour takes most of the day, so a second long stop is unrealistic. For a shorter add-on, Shees Village lies further along the Khorfakkan Road, and Sharjah Desert Park is the emirate’s other wildlife stop, home to the Arabian Wildlife Centre. Either fits better on a separate day than after a Gold tour.
