Dubai Metro Map: Stations, Interchanges & Zone Fares

The Dubai Metro runs two lines on its current map: the Red Line with 35 stations and the Green Line with 20. Union and BurJuman sit on both lines, so the network has 53 separate stations.

Sponsor names now replace many of the original district names, so the tables below show each current name next to the one it replaced.

Every station on the map carries a code: R for Red, G for Green, and 01 to 11 for the Dubai Tram.

Official map & apps

The RTA publishes the map in two forms. Open the interactive stations map in any browser to filter Red Line, Green Line and Tram stations by code and name. The printable rail network map is a PDF of the whole network, including the tram, monorail, bus and ferry links, and it is the version to keep on your phone for underground stretches.

S’hail, the RTA’s free app, downloads the metro rail network map for offline use. It also plans journeys across metro, tram, bus and abra, with live departure times and fare estimates. The journey planner on the RTA website plans metro, tram and bus trips in a browser.

Red Line stations

The Red Line runs from Centrepoint (R11) in the east to two western terminals, Life Pharmacy (R42) and Expo 2020 (R76), and follows Sheikh Zayed Road for most of its length. Trains end at one of those two stations, so check the destination on the platform board before you board.

Union & BurJuman interchanges

BurJuman metro station platform with Gold Class cabin signage

Union (R18/G20) and BurJuman (R19/G26) are the only places to change between the Red and Green lines. They are also the two busiest stations on the network, with 8.4 million riders at BurJuman and 6.5 million at Union in the first half of 2026.

Which one to use depends on where you are heading on the Green Line:

  • Union: G11 to G23, from e& and Al Nahda through Baniyas Square and Gold Souq to Al Ras.
  • BurJuman: G24 to G30, from Al Ghubaiba and Sharaf DG through Oud Metha and Dubai Healthcare City to Creek.

Al Ghubaiba is four stops from Union but two from BurJuman, which is where the split falls.

Dubai Tram connection

The Dubai Tram has 11 stations, numbered 01 to 11, covering JBR, Dubai Marina, Media City, Knowledge Village and Al Sufouh. It meets the Red Line at Sobha Realty (R36) and DMCC (R37).

The tram runs Monday to Saturday from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM and on Sunday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM. Your nol card works on both, and a transfer within 30 minutes counts as one journey.

Planning a trip with the map

  1. Find your start and end stations and note their codes. An R code is on the Red Line and a G code is on the Green Line.
  2. If both codes start with the same letter, ride that line directly. On the Red Line, choose the direction by terminal: Centrepoint, or Expo 2020 and Life Pharmacy.
  3. If the letters differ, change at Union or BurJuman using the split above.
  4. Count the zones your route crosses. The map divides Dubai into 7 zones, and the fare depends on how many you pass through.
  5. Tap your nol card at entry and at exit. The fare comes off your balance at the end of the journey.
  6. Check the last train for your station and direction before a late return. First and last trips differ by station.

Zone fares

Fares depend on the zones crossed and the card you hold. Children aged 5 and under travel free on every card.

Card 1 zone 2 adjacent zones More than 2 zones
Silver or personal nol card AED 3 AED 5 AED 7.50
Gold nol card AED 6 AED 10 AED 15
Red Ticket AED 4 AED 6 AED 8.50
Red Ticket (Gold) AED 8 AED 12 AED 17
Silver nol card held in hand for Dubai Metro zone fares

A metro-to-bus change within 30 minutes of leaving the metro is charged as a single journey, based on the total zones across both trips. One journey can last up to 180 minutes with up to 3 transfers.

Blue Line & Gold Line

The Blue Line is under construction and opens on 9 September 2029. It runs 30 km with 14 stations and a budget of AED 20.5 billion, and it starts at Centrepoint on the Red Line and Creek on the Green Line. Its route reaches Mirdif, Al Warqa, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Dubai Creek Harbour and Dubai Festival City.

The Gold Line was announced on 22 April 2026 and is due on 9 September 2032. It is a 42 km, 18-station line, entirely underground, with an investment of AED 34 billion. It meets the Red Line at Business Bay and Jumeirah Golf Estates and the Green Line at Al Ghubaiba.

Neither line appears on the current operating map, and the Red and Green lines keep their present codes.

FAQ

Has the Dubai Metro map changed since 2024?

The lines and station counts are the same, with 35 Red Line and 20 Green Line stations. The changes are names. InsuranceMarket replaced Mashreq in September 2024, and in 2025 stations such as Al Fardan Exchange, Life Pharmacy and National Paints took new names. R29 moves from ONPASSIVE to Garmin between September and the end of November 2026.

How many stations does the Dubai Metro have?

There are 55 station entries: 35 on the Red Line and 20 on the Green Line. Union and BurJuman appear on both lines, so the network has 53 separate stations.

Which metro stations serve Dubai Airport?

Airport Terminal 3 (R13) and Airport Terminal 1 (R14) on the Red Line. Dubai Airport Free Zone (G13) on the Green Line serves the free zone, not the terminals.

Can I use the Dubai Metro map offline?

Yes. Save the PDF rail network map to your phone, or download the metro map inside the S’hail app and open it without a data connection.

Which stations connect the metro to the Dubai Tram?

Sobha Realty (R36) and DMCC (R37) on the Red Line.

Before you travel

  • Save the PDF map or download it in S’hail before you go underground.
  • Choose a card: a Red Ticket covers one trip, while a Silver card costs AED 3 against AED 4 for the same one-zone ride.
  • Write down your destination code and whether you change at Union or BurJuman.
  • Check the last train time for your station and direction if you are travelling late.
