How you check a RAKBANK balance depends on what you hold. A current or savings account shows its balance in the RAKBANK app, in online banking, at an ATM or over the phone on RAKdirect. A RAKBANK prepaid card works differently: since the prepaid card portal closed on 10 December 2025, its balance comes by SMS to 2737 or by phone.

RAKdirect is RAKBANK’s phone banking service. You can speak to a representative or use the automated IVR to hear your available balance, your credit card minimum payment and payment due date, and to request statements.

At an ATM
Insert your RAKBANK debit card, enter your PIN and select balance enquiry. Other banks’ ATMs in the UAE accept the card as well, but the owning bank may charge for the enquiry. The same applies to any card under the general ATM balance check in UAE rules.

Prepaid cards are being moved into RAKBANK’s Digital Banking app during 2026. Until that move reaches your card, use these channels from the prepaid card portal closure notice.
Balance by SMS
- Find your Card ID. It looks like AEDP0300000272.
- From the mobile number registered with RAKBANK, text BAL followed by a space and your Card ID to 2737.
- Example: BAL AEDP0300000272

Transaction history for a prepaid card now comes as a monthly e-statement to your registered email, starting from the January 2026 statement date. You can also call 600 54 4049 for recent transactions.
If you forgot the prepaid card PIN
RAKBANK can’t reissue a forgotten prepaid PIN. You have to replace the card, and the balance moves to the new card. Replacement costs AED 26.25 including VAT and takes up to 2 working days. Bring your original, valid Emirates ID to any RAKBANK branch.
Your registered mobile number matters
Every SMS method above only answers the number RAKBANK has on file. RAKBANK updates mobile numbers at a branch only, with your original Emirates ID. If you changed numbers and haven’t told the bank, SMS balance requests will go unanswered and you’ll miss transaction alerts too.
Email addresses are easier: in Digital Banking, go to Services, then General Requests, then e-Statements.
When your salary isn’t in the balance
If your salary account shows no credit after payday, check the app’s transaction list rather than the total balance, then ask payroll for the payment date. A salary that never reached RAKBANK is an employer issue, and a salary not received in the UAE case has a set MOHRE process.
