Text BAL and the last six digits of your account number to 2626, and ADCB replies with your balance. For account number 123456030001, that’s “BAL 030001”. The command works from the mobile number registered with ADCB, only after a one-time SMS banking registration, and it costs a standard text message.
The SMS route is the one most people search for, but it isn’t always the best. Here’s how each ADCB method works and when to use it.

SMS balance check
Register once
Send REG followed by your full ADCB current or savings account number, or your full credit card number, to 2626. Example: REG 123456030001. You can also register through ADCB Personal Internet Banking.
The SMS has to come from the number ADCB holds for you. If you’ve changed numbers, update it first by calling 600 50 2030.
Commands that work after registration
| What you want | Send to 2626 | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Account balance | BAL + last 6 digits of account | BAL 030001 |
| Credit card balance | CBAL + last 6 digits of card | CBAL 123456 |
| Credit card details | CDET + last 6 digits of card | CDET 123456 |
| IBAN letter | IBAN + last 6 digits of account | IBAN 030001 |
| TouchPoints balance | POINTS | POINTS |
| Your Customer ID | CID | CID |
Commands aren’t case-sensitive, so “bal 030001” works as well as “BAL 030001”. The same service gives a mini statement of your last three transactions.
Why the SMS fails
- The number isn’t registered with ADCB. Replies only go to the mobile number on your ADCB profile.
- You skipped REG. BAL does nothing until you’ve registered once.
- Wrong digits. Use the last six digits of the account number, not the card number. For a credit card, use CBAL with the card’s last six digits.
- Extra characters. One space between the keyword and the digits, nothing else.
ADCB mobile app
Log in to the ADCB app and open Accounts & Deposits on the main dashboard. Each account shows its balance, recent transactions and IBAN, and you can download or share the account details from the same screen.
Debit card transactions sit under Cards on the dashboard. If you’re logging in for the first time, you can sign up with your debit or credit card number. Your Customer ID comes back instantly if you text CID to 2626.
Internet banking
ADCB Personal Internet Banking shows the same balances as the app on a computer. It’s the better option for statements over several months, and it’s also where you can register for SMS banking without sending REG.
ATMs
ADCB has more than 560 ATMs in the UAE. A balance inquiry at any of them is free.
At another UAE bank’s ATM, a balance inquiry costs AED 2 on standard ADCB accounts. Some account tiers include 6 free inquiries a month before the AED 2 charge starts, and some have no charge at all, so check your own account’s fees schedule. In other GCC countries, an inquiry costs AED 3.15 on standard accounts.
If you’re checking because you plan to withdraw, use an ADCB machine. A cash withdrawal at another bank’s UAE ATM costs AED 2 on standard accounts as well.
Contact centre
Call 600 50 2030 for a balance from an agent or the automated service. Balance enquiries through the contact centre are free. Have your card or account details ready for verification, and never read out your PIN to an agent.
Which ADCB method to use
- Phone without data: SMS to 2626, once registered.
- Smartphone with data: the ADCB app. It’s free and shows your transactions too.
- Credit card balance: CBAL by SMS, or the Cards section in the app.
- Near an ADCB machine: check at the ATM for free.
- Abroad: the app over Wi-Fi. ATMs in other GCC countries charge AED 3.15 per inquiry on standard accounts.
Salary credits & transfers
ADCB sends push alerts for events such as a salary credit or an ATM withdrawal once you’ve turned them on, so you don’t have to keep checking on payday. Set them up under the app’s notification and SMS settings.
If your salary hasn’t appeared, the hold-up is usually on the employer’s side. The UAE salary balance check steps help you rule out a credit that’s already landed elsewhere.
For money coming from abroad, the payer needs your IBAN and the ADCB SWIFT code, ADCBAEAA. Missing details are the usual reason a transfer doesn’t show up in your balance.
