The ADCB SWIFT/BIC code is ADCBAEAA, and it’s the same for an account in Dubai as for one in Abu Dhabi. If a transfer form insists on 11 characters, use ADCBAEAAXXX.
There’s no separate Dubai code for a personal account. Account holders should give payers their account number and the ADCB SWIFT code ADCBAEAA, with no branch or emirate variation.
What ADCBAEAA060 is
ADCBAEAA060 is registered to ADCB’s Dubai Trade Finance unit at the ADCB building on Al Rigga Road. Its name describes its role: trade finance business such as letters of credit.
For a salary, a family transfer, or any payment into a personal ADCB account in Dubai, use ADCBAEAA. Use 060 only if an ADCB trade finance team gives it to you for a specific trade transaction.
All ADCB SWIFT codes in the UAE
ADCB holds one main code and several department codes. These are the active ones:
| SWIFT / BIC code | Branch / department | Location |
|---|---|---|
| ADCBAEAA (ADCBAEAAXXX) | Head office | Abu Dhabi |
| ADCBAEAA060 | Dubai Trade Finance | Dubai |
| ADCBAEAACMD | Cash Management Department | Abu Dhabi |
| ADCBAEAAFIN | Finance Department | Abu Dhabi |
| ADCBAEAAREM | RBS unit | Abu Dhabi |
| ADCBAEAATRY | Treasury Settlements | Abu Dhabi |
| ADCBAEAAWMO | Wealth Management | Abu Dhabi |
Only the first row applies to personal transfers. Whichever branch or emirate your account is in, give senders ADCBAEAA.

Filling in the transfer form, field by field
A sender abroad needs these details from you, in roughly the order most bank forms ask for them:
- Beneficiary name: your full name exactly as it appears on your ADCB account.
- Beneficiary IBAN: your 23-character IBAN, starting with AE. An IBAN is required for all inward and outward remittances to and from the UAE.
- Beneficiary account number: your ADCB account number, if the form has a separate field for it.
- Bank name: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB).
- Bank country: United Arab Emirates.
- SWIFT/BIC: ADCBAEAA, or ADCBAEAAXXX if 11 characters are required.
- Charge option: OUR, SHA, or BEN (covered below).
The IBAN is the detail that identifies your account, so check it character by character before you send it.
Checking your ADCB IBAN
A UAE IBAN has 23 characters, and the Central Bank of the UAE sets its structure:
| Position | Characters | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | AE | Country code for the UAE |
| 3–4 | 2 digits | Check digits that validate the IBAN |
| 5–7 | 003 | Bank identifier (ADCB) |
| 8–23 | 16 digits | Your account number |
ADCB’s bank identifier is 003. If characters 5 to 7 of an IBAN aren’t 003, it isn’t an ADCB IBAN.
To get your IBAN, use ADCB’s IBAN generator and enter your 12- or 14-digit ADCB account number.

If you used to bank with UNB
Union National Bank (UNB) merged into ADCB, and every UNB account moved to ADCB on 2 April 2020. Each account got a new account number and a new IBAN.
Here’s how the old and new details differ:
| Detail | Former UNB | ADCB now |
|---|---|---|
| SWIFT/BIC | UNBEAEAA | ADCBAEAA |
| IBAN characters 5–7 | 045 | 003 |
| Account number | Old UNB number | New ADCB number |
If a payer, employer, or tenant still has your UNB details on file, send them your ADCB IBAN and the code ADCBAEAA.
Salary and payments inside the UAE
A payment from inside the UAE runs on your IBAN. ADCB says the IBAN is also required for salary payments through the Wages Protection System (WPS), so your IBAN is the main detail to give your employer.
Some payroll forms also ask for a routing or clearing code. HSBC’s published list of UAE bank codes gives ADCB the local clearing code 600310101.

Who pays the transfer fees
The sender’s charge option decides who pays the fees along the way. There are three options:
- OUR: the sender pays all fees, so the recipient gets the full amount.
- SHA: the sender pays their own bank’s fees, and the recipient pays the fees on their side.
- BEN: the recipient pays all fees, which come off the amount before it lands.
If you need an exact amount, such as rent or tuition, ask the sender to choose OUR. ADCB’s charges for receiving money depend on your account type.
FAQ
Is there a different SWIFT code for ADCB in Dubai?
No. ADCBAEAA covers ADCB accounts in every emirate, including Dubai. ADCBAEAA060 is registered to the Dubai Trade Finance unit and isn’t used for personal transfers.
Should I use ADCBAEAA or ADCBAEAAXXX?
Either works. They’re the same code. Use the 8-character ADCBAEAA by default, and ADCBAEAAXXX only when a form requires 11 characters.
I was a UNB customer. Do my old account details still work?
Use your ADCB details instead. UNB accounts moved to ADCB on 2 April 2020 with new account numbers and IBANs, and the SWIFT code is now ADCBAEAA.
Is Al Hilal Bank’s SWIFT code the same as ADCB’s?
No. Al Hilal Bank is part of the ADCB Group but has its own code, HLALAEAA, and its own IBAN bank identifier, 053. Use ADCBAEAA only for ADCB accounts.
Does ADCB have a routing number?
The UAE doesn’t use routing numbers the way the US does. Payments into an ADCB account use the IBAN, plus ADCBAEAA for international transfers. For payroll forms that ask for a local clearing code, HSBC’s published list of UAE bank codes gives ADCB’s as 600310101.
How do I find my ADCB IBAN?
Enter your 12- or 14-digit account number in ADCB’s IBAN generator. The IBAN is 23 characters and reads AE, 2 check digits, then 003.
