United Arab Bank’s SWIFT code is UARBAEAA. A payer abroad enters it as the beneficiary bank’s code, along with your 23-character UAB IBAN. Forms that insist on 11 characters take UARBAEAAXXX.
Many people expect the code to contain “UAB” and type something like UABAEAA, which doesn’t exist. The registered prefix is UARB.

Your IBAN comes from a 13-digit account number
UAB account numbers are 13 digits long. Enter yours in the UAB IBAN finder and it returns the IBAN, with the SWIFT code shown on the same page. UAB says the result is valid only if the account number you typed is correct, so check every digit, or copy the IBAN from UAB online or mobile banking instead.
Send the IBAN without spaces when the payer’s form has a single box for it.
Three mistakes that hold up payments
A made-up code. UABAEAA, UABAEAD and similar guesses aren’t registered SWIFT codes. The only correct code is UARBAEAA.
An account number instead of an IBAN. The 13-digit number works inside UAB. A bank abroad needs the IBAN.
A name mismatch. The beneficiary name should match your UAB account exactly. Send the payer your name as it appears on your statement, not a short form.
Fees on incoming payments
The sender’s charge choice decides what reaches you:
- OUR: the sender pays all charges and you get the full amount.
- SHA: charges are shared, so expect a deduction.
- BEN: you pay all charges, including intermediary banks’.
When a transfer is late
International transfers into UAE accounts usually arrive within 4 working days of the value date. If yours hasn’t:
- Ask the sender for the MT103 SWIFT copy or their bank’s payment confirmation.
- Check it shows UARBAEAA and your IBAN with 046 in characters 5 to 7.
- Call UAB on 800 474 in the UAE or +971 6 5987332 from abroad, with the confirmation and its UETR reference.
- If the code or IBAN is wrong, the sender’s bank must amend or recall the payment.
