CBD balance check

CBD Balance Check: Mobile App, Online Banking, ATM & Phone

The quickest CBD balance check is the CBD Mobile Banking app. Log in and your accounts appear on the dashboard with their balances. Tap one and you get its transactions, its IBAN and its statements in the same place.

Commercial Bank of Dubai has moved a lot of everyday services to digital channels only, so a call to the contact centre is no longer the default way to get account information. Registering for the app is worth the five minutes even if you rarely bank online.

Register for CBD Mobile Banking

If you already have CBD Online Banking credentials, use them in the app. If not, you can register from the app itself. You’ll need:

  • Your 10-digit CBD account number, or your 16-digit debit or credit card number
  • Your debit card’s 4-digit PIN
  • The mobile number registered with CBD, to receive a one-time password
  • Your Emirates ID

The app then asks you to create a user ID and password. New customers can register with their account, card or RIM number, their Emirates ID or passport expiry date, and the OTP.

Check your balance in the app

  1. Log in to the CBD Mobile app.
  2. Your accounts show on the dashboard. Tap View All Accounts if you hold several.
  3. Select an account to see its details, recent transactions and IBAN.

Download a statement

  1. Select the account.
  2. Open the Statements tab.
  3. Choose Current Month, or tap estatements and pick the month and year.
  4. Tap View PDF to save a copy.

Credit card & finance balances

For a credit card, select the card and open the Details tab. It shows the available balance and the outstanding balance. For a personal loan or finance, tap View All Accounts, select the finance, and the finance amount and outstanding balance appear under its details.

Check your balance in Online Banking

  1. Log in to CBD Online Banking.
  2. Go to Accounts and click the account.
  3. Click Statements, choose the month and year, and click Submit.
  4. Use PDF Download to save it.

Online Banking is the easier option when a visa application, a landlord or an embassy asks for several months of statements.

At an ATM

Insert your CBD debit card, enter your PIN and pick balance enquiry. The card is chip-and-PIN and contactless, and it works at ATMs worldwide, though another bank’s machine may charge for the enquiry. CBD branch and machine locations are on the CBD ATMs and branches list.

The contact centre is open from 9am to 9pm. Lost or stolen cards and fraudulent transactions can be reported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Outside those hours, CBD’s chatbot, Aysha, answers on the website 24/7.

Watch the minimum balance

Your balance matters for more than spending. A CBD savings account charges a monthly fee if the monthly average balance falls below AED 5,000. The fee is waived if you transfer a salary of AED 5,000 or more to CBD, or if you have a loan or finance with the bank. A breach of the minimum balance threshold triggers the matching charge, so checking the balance near month end can save you a fee.

When the balance looks wrong

  • Lower than you expected. Card payments at hotels, fuel stations and online shops can hold funds before the final amount posts. Check the transaction list in the app.
  • A payment you don’t recognise. Call 600 575 556 and report it as fraud. That line takes fraud reports 24/7.
  • Salary missing. If no salary credit appears, the money hasn’t reached CBD. A salary not received in the UAE case has a set MOHRE process.
