LuLu Exchange Balance Check: App Steps & Card Types

Salary day and no alert? Open the LuLu Money app, tap My Cards, and the available balance shows on your virtual card at the top of the screen.

That route covers the LuLu Exchange salary cards, My Pay My Card and the LuLu Money Card. The Travel Card has its own balance options, and every card type is covered below.

Which LuLu Exchange card do you have?

The card decides where your balance shows and what a check can cost.

Card Who it is for Where the balance shows
My Pay My Card / LuLu Money Card Employees paid through the Wages Protection System (WPS) LuLu Money app, under My Cards
LuLu Money Travel Card UAE residents aged 18+ with a valid Emirates ID LuLu Money app or web portal, or an ATM inquiry at AED 2

The LuLu Money Card is the salary card LuLu Exchange gives each My Pay customer, so both salary cards use the same app screen. The full background on the card is in the guide to My Pay My Card.

Check your balance in the LuLu Money app

  1. Install LuLu Money from the App Store, Google Play or Huawei AppGallery.
  2. Log in with your 4-digit app PIN or biometrics.
  3. Tap LuLu Money Cards on the Home screen, or open the More menu and choose My Cards.
  4. Read your available balance on the virtual card at the top of the page.

Tap Transaction History on the same page to see what moved. The filters cover the current day, week, month or a custom period, and you can narrow the list to POS, ATM or credit transactions. The credit filter is the quickest way to spot a salary payment.

For a statement, tap Get Statement in Transaction History and pick a period: last month, 6 months, 12 months or custom dates. You can download or share it as a PDF. A statement covering one month or less costs nothing, and longer periods carry a charge.

First time in the app

The app is open to UAE residents above 21. Sign-up takes an email address, a mobile number and your Emirates ID, with an OTP to verify.

  • New to LuLu Exchange: take your original Emirates ID to any LuLu Exchange branch to finish KYC. Branch staff verify the ID in about 2 minutes and the account activates right away.
  • Already a LuLu Exchange branch customer: the app asks you to set a PIN, and it sends you to a branch only if your KYC is incomplete or the Emirates ID on file has expired.
  • UAE PASS: you can complete eKYC through UAE PASS instead, by choosing Start my eKYC during sign-up.

Your customer number arrives by email after registration. It also appears on your Profile page once you are logged in.

Activate a new card first

A new card has to be activated in the app before you use it. Open My Cards, tap Activate Card, enter the card details, and choose one of three routes: OTP verification, IVR activation or customer support.

If the IVR or support call drops before it finishes, the Home screen shows Activation pending. Run the activation again.

Travel Card balance

The Travel Card holds AED as its base currency and up to 25 other currencies, and the balance sits in a separate wallet for each currency. Check the wallet of the currency you plan to spend, because a full AED wallet does not cover a dollar purchase.

You can read the balance in the LuLu Money app or the web portal. An ATM balance inquiry costs AED 2.

Fees that lower the balance without a purchase:

  • Reload: AED 5 each time
  • Annual fee: AED 20, waived in the first year
  • Inactivity: AED 25 a month after 6 months with no use
  • ATM withdrawal: AED 2 in the UAE, AED 10 abroad

ATMs & branches

The salary card pays out cash at every LuLu Exchange branch and at Emirates NBD, Emirates Islamic and Mashreq Bank ATMs across the UAE. Abroad, the card works at Discover network ATMs and POS terminals.

Bring your original Emirates ID for anything done at a branch. The general steps for ATM balance menus, and what other banks’ ATMs charge, are in the guide to ATM balance check in the UAE.

When the balance does not show

  • You cannot log in: tap Forgot PIN on the login page, enter your registered mobile number, type the OTP and set a new 4-digit PIN.
  • The app asks for KYC: visit a branch with your original Emirates ID. An expired Emirates ID on file causes the same prompt.
  • The card shows Activation pending: repeat the activation from My Cards.
  • Salary has not arrived: check whether your employer paid through WPS. The guide to checking your salary balance in the UAE explains how to verify the payment through MOHRE and what counts as late.
  • Still stuck: call LuLu Exchange customer care on 600 522 204 or email customercare@ae.luluexchange.com. Support runs round the clock.

Never share your OTP or card PIN with anyone who calls or messages you, including someone claiming to be from LuLu Exchange. Confirm any doubtful contact through the 600 522 204 line.

FAQ

Can I check my LuLu Exchange balance online?

Yes. The LuLu Money app shows your balance under My Cards. The Travel Card balance can also be read on the web portal.

What is the difference between My Pay My Card & the LuLu Money Card?

My Pay is LuLu Exchange’s WPS salary product, and the LuLu Money Card is the salary card issued to each My Pay customer. Both show their balance in the same My Cards screen.

How do I get a statement for my LuLu Money Card?

Open My Cards, tap Transaction History, then Get Statement. Choose a period and download the PDF. A one-month statement is free.

What is my customer number & where do I find it?

LuLu Exchange emails it to your registered address after you register. Once you are logged in, it also appears on your Profile page.

How much does a Travel Card ATM balance inquiry cost?

AED 2 per inquiry. The same card also lets you read the balance in the LuLu Money app or on the web portal.

My card says Ratibi, not LuLu. Does this guide apply?

No. A Ratibi card runs on a different balance system. Use the Ratibi card salary check guide instead.

Payday routine

  • Open the LuLu Money app and go to My Cards.
  • Filter Transaction History to credit transactions to see the salary line.
  • Download a statement when you need proof of income or want to review a month.
  • Keep your Emirates ID valid so the app never asks you back to a branch.
